The design problem that we are trying to solve with our application is an outdated interface of many fitness applications that are currently on the market. There is a number of calorie counting apps available to users but even the most popular ones seem to be poorly designed. It appears as though the creators tend to put more focus on functionality of their products. I believe that modern design is an important aspect of web applications nowadays as younger people tend to use them quite frequently.
MyFitnessPal is a fitness web application widely used around the world (it was translated into 15 languages). Its design is not appealing to younger age groups as it looks quite old-fashioned.
With kcalPal, we would like to introduce a modern, pleasant looking design that would appeal to users of all ages. We believe that this will allow our application to be successful once released to the market.
